Diving flag

A diving flag is an essential piece of equipment for indicating the presence of underwater divers and alerting nearby vessels. Displayed from a dive boat, an anchored vessel or an organized diving area, it helps make diving activity more visible and reduce risks associated with marine traffic. This category includes the blue-and-white Alpha flag and the red flag with a white diagonal stripe, commonly associated with scuba diving. These two signals are not interchangeable: their meaning and use depend on the maritime context and the applicable regulations. When choosing a diving flag, consider visibility, dimensions, attachment method and resistance to marine conditions. Before a dive, it is also important to understand the relevant safety rules and the distances that vessels must maintain from submerged divers.
