The Godmegard and Battle tables allow the calculation of the height (Dieumegard) and the azimuth (Battle) of a celestial body whose position is known (Hour angle and Declination) and from an estimated position also known (longitude and latitude).
This is the traditional French method.
They have the advantage of being very compact (44 pages for the whole) and usable indefinitely, for all the stars.
Note: they are actually in the form of a single booklet, the tables are upside down.
