The Nautic Way Maritime Bookstore offers several models of portable VHF.
Are you looking for a VHF?
VHF is essential to your safety. According to Division 240, a waterproof and floating portable VHF is mandatory on board all boats sailing more than 60 NM from a shelter (in addition to a fixed VHF).
It is simply recommended for coastal navigation less than 2 NM from shelter.
As this is essential communication and therefore safety equipment, we recommend that you have a portable VHF when traveling in the dinghy and in addition to your grab bag, whatever your navigation category.
VHF sealing standards
- Protection index IPx6
This standard indicates protection against untested dust and liquid protection against strong splashes of water (splash, rain). However, it is not resistant to immersion.
- Protection class IPx7
This standard indicates protection against untested dust and liquid protection against the effects of immersion in a maximum depth of 1 m and for 30 minutes.
VHF Bluetooth function
Bluetooth makes it possible to switch the ringing and the call of a mobile phone on the VHF. This wireless relay system offers the possibility of storing the GSM portable in a dry and sheltered place (inside the boat or in a waterproof pocket). Simply press the Bluetooth key on the VHF to transfer the incoming call from the mobile phone to the VHF and answer. Distance between phone and VHF: up to 6 m.
- Operation
- The GSM portable operation, carefully sheltered in a raincoat pocket or inside the boat, receives a call.
- The ringing of the mobile phone resounds in the loudspeaker of the VHF.
- Pressing the Bluetooth button on the VHF and communication is established wirelessly with the correspondent, without it being necessary to manipulate the GSM mobile phone.
- Once the communication is finished, simply press the Bluetooth button on the VHF again to stop the communication.
There is bound to be a model for you.
