This amended Garbage Record Book is to be used on board vessels to record discharges from and incinerations on board ships. It contains the latest guidance in accordance with regulation 10 of Annex V of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 (MARPOL), a record is to be kept of each discharge operation or completed by incineration. This includes discharges into the sea, to reception facilities, or to other ships, as well as the accidental loss of garbage.

MARPOL Annex V - Garbage has been revised to strengthen the current provisions so to continue to reduce pollution caused by garbage. This amended book helps you to meet the new requirements which include:

• Additional garbage types
• Different requirements in respect of discharge conditions,
• Reporting

Includes updated MARPOL legislation effective from 1st January 2013 and additional requirements of MARPOL ANNEX V amended by Polar Code (MEPC.265(68)) effective from 1st January 2017.

Further updated to include amendments to Annex V of the MARPOL Convention by Resolution MEPC.277(70) with the entry-into-force date of 1st March 2018.
