Description détaillée

An exceptional odyssey and an extraordinary human adventure

Phileas Fogg went around the world in 80 days, do it in 90 minutes with René Van Bever!

The sea to carry around the world, the wind to push them to distant lands, a sailboat to lead them to other people, that's what this family dreamed with 2 children aged 9 and 11.

One day they left the safety of a landlord's life to embark on a long journey that turned into a way of life.

Much more than a sea film, it's a report on a long road punctuated by the most beautiful stopovers, those of meetings with people and their cultures.

Spectacular expeditions on several continents, René Van Bever has reported amazing images, on land or under the sea, of our planet.

The first part will make you live, among other things, our first ocean crossing, discover the world of gold prospectors in Venezuela, Cuban life but also the colorful markets of Guatemala and the Kuna Indians in San Blas. The journey continues with the passage of the mythical Panama Canal which opens its doors to the Pacific to discover the high peaks of the Andes, the enchanted archipelago (Galapagos) and its extraordinary fauna.

After a 3 weeks crossing you will join the Marquesas, then the beautiful lagoons of Tuamotus and Islands of the Society.

Always head west in the second part. You will discover the uninhabited coral ring of Suvarov, the whale sanctuary in Tonga, the Fijian traditions and a cohabitation with the people of a Vanuatu lost village before immersing themselves in the Australian way of life and going out to meet terrible sea crocodiles.

Indonesia then offers us its finest jewels: Dao, the island of the end of the world, Bali the mythical with a sequence out of the ordinary and the last orangutan of Borneo.

The road then takes the return path through the Indian Ocean strewn with the debris of the tsunami, the Gulf of Aden and its pirates, the remains of the abandoned city of Suakin in Sudan, the marsas and finally the Suez Canal which represents the gateway to Europe.

Warm and rich with endless anecdotes, René Van Bever knows how to captivate his audience beyond images and memories.
